July 2, 2006 at 8:56PM Bloglines Freedback: Reporting bugs
Let’s start with the magical incantation: bloglines freedbacking.
Occasionally, I come across dodgy feeds or feed items. Sometimes it’s down to a malformed feed, other times it’s because Bloglines isn’t parsing the feed correctly.
Firefox has one great feature. Under the Help menu, there’s a menu item that reads “Report Broken Web Site”. What I’d like is for Bloglines to implement a version of this, be it as a button, a link, whatever. And put it before the item to prevent it from being obscured by Rubyisms.
And on the topic of Rubyisms and other mishaps such as, say, a wireless connection dropping, Bloglines should allow you to recover from them without having to shuffle about feeds to put the offending one at the bottom and then go back in time. At the very least the dropdown at the bottom of the page should include an extra option saying that you want to view items displayed in your last viewing. The session item isn’t enough as that includes everything since the start of the session, and my Bloglines session is typically months old.
